Bodega Antucura

When Anne-Caroline Biancheri wanted to settle down and start a family she began by looking for the right piece of land. She found it in the Uco Valley - a stunning place, backed by the Andes and with perfect wine-growing potential. Anne-Caroline named this spot Antucura - "sun stone" in the Mapudungun language. It was apt. The "stone cradle" of soil is perfect for drainage as well as warming the vines through cool, clear nights.

Her winery mingles with the terroir, the ancient viticultural traditions and the new vinification technologies. Trough a special gravity flow system the grapes are gently pressed and therefore wines are nurtured in unparalleled conditions.

Varietals for planting were chosen from similar grounds in Pomerol: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as the later growths of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

In collaboration with their friend and fellow Vista Flores winery owner, Michel Rolland, she pursued a common goal, to create the first, truly ultra premium with an Argentine profile and identity.
